316L stainless steel was electropolished in 3 electrolytes consisting of H2SO4, H3PO4 and org. additives (Et3N, OHCH2CH2OH, (COOH)2, PhNHAc, glycerol) at 55°C and anodic current d. 20 A/dm2. In the Et3N-contg. bath, the roughness Ra was 0.063-0.065 [mikro]m and in the OHCH2CH2OH, (COOH)2 and PhNHAc-contg. bath, 0.091-0.096 [mikro]m. The bath consisting H3PO4 and glycerol (50% by vol.) was efficient only at above 90°C (Ra 0.070 [mikro]m).
